Daily Quote:

Revised standards in Ontario schools have turned the heat up on students. Provincial test results indicate that many just aren't making the grade.

Almost half of students in Grades 3 and 6 did not meet standards for reading (45-50%), writing (45-47%) or math (42-46%). 78% of academic level Grade 9 students fell short in math; while 79% of applied level students did not meet basic literacy expectations. (Press Release, EQAO office, December 2002)

It is clear, that many students need more help than schools can provide. For ten percent of kids, the group with learning disabilities, they need a lot more help!

Struggling students benefit from assessment-based programs, individualized goals and one-on-one instruction. Early help can prevent academic failure and secondary social/ emotional difficulties. The best time to prepare kids for success in school and in life is EARLY!

Our tutors are well qualified to help! All are certified teachers with extra special education qualifications. They understand the value of individualized programs, and work equally well with average and exceptional students. Our tutors begin with an initial assessment, and then personally design programs for each student.

These programs may target literacy, math, science, study strategies, organizational skills or subject-specific competencies. With ongoing input from speech-language pathologists on staff, tutors have special expertise in language-based learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. Programs are offered for elementary, secondary and post-secondary level students.
